So I stand up
And march on forth,
Never knowing when
I'll meet her again
But always believing
I someday will.
I did not see her
During shining dawn
Rosy warm zeniths
Colouring hot blood
Lived with conviction
Devoid of applause
I could not find her
Under midday sun
The hole in the sky
Casted down light
It warmed my face
Instead of her hands
I yearned to meet her
At languid dusk
Her form manifesting
As a nudging breeze
Guiding me kindly
Towards our silent home
I dearly missed her
In the nighttime dark
Distant candle-pairs
Flickering in adversity
As I quietly stared
Clutching mine closer
I know she loves
Made in her image
I always chose love
I always will
So today I still wait
Hoping she will be watching.
